Pedestal active against larvae of insects of the orders lepidoptera, coleopteran, homoptera and diptera. It acts by inhibiting chitin formation during moulting.

Mode of Action: Contact insecticide

It acts mainly by ingestion, but has shown some contact activity. It does not have ovicidal activity, but a high percentage of mortality of first instar hatching from eggs laid on sprayed foliage occurs. It also suppresses fecundity.

Recommendation: Used to control larvae of insects of the orders Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Homoptera and Diptera.

Pedestal was found safe to major beneficial insects and may be used as a component in integrated pest management (IPM). In India, it was found to be the best product for spodoptera control in many corps.

Crops: Cotton, tomato cabbage, Bengal gram and Chilli

Targeted Pests: American bollworm, Dimond back moth, Fruit Borer, Tobacco caterpillere and Pod borer.
